About Coach

Growing up I competed in swimming, soccer and track and field. When I reached my final year of junior high, I realized I hated running (and I still do). I quickly pivoted to water polo and went on to play at the D1 level with the UC Davis Aggies. Shortly after college I went the rout of big box gyms like 24hr fitness and Equinox. Unfortunately, I always missed the sense of community I had when competing in sports. The longing for community has shaped me into a coach that values inclusion more than anything. I also have CrossFit to thank for introducing me to my beautiful wife!

Turning Point

I wouldn’t consider myself a shy person but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared as hell going into my first CrossFit class. I was living in SF after graduation and wanting to make new friends and unfortunately, Equinox was not cutting it. I dropped into my first CrossFit class and while I LOVED it, I wasn’t immediately hooked. Fortunately, with consistency, came motivation. I started making new friends, seeing new confidence in myself, and looking forward to going to the gym more than anything. I would take lifting chalk over eucalyptus towels any days.

Motivation & Passion

I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals. Nothing gets me more excited than helping a member get their first muscle up, handstand walk or any gym feat! Seeing others progress fills me with joy.
